Waqt ki taiz rawi dekh ke dar jatey hain
Log jetey hain kuch is tarah ke mar jatey hain

Zindagaani teri azmat ko badhane wale
Muskuratey hue maqtal se guzar jatey hain

Bazm- e- yaraan ho ke dasht- e-shab- e-tanahai ho
Zakhm bharne pe jab atey hain to bhar jatey hain

Yeh shab- o- roz bhi auraq- e- pareshan ki tarah
Baarha waqt ki aandhi main bikhar jatey hain

Kitni yadoun se ulajhti hai meri tanhai
Kitne toofaan mere sar se guzar jatey hain

Door reh ker bhi kabhi shikwa- e- doori na raha
Aap hi aap hain jis samt jidhar jatey hain

Waqt nasaaz hai behtar hai ke ab lout chalain
Shaam hote hi parindey bhi to ghar jatey hain
